Matthew 8:5-17

He cured them all

Sometimes I can feel like the paralysed servant of the centurion – I need someone to intercede on my behalf when I am locked in inability to know what to do. I feel like the writer of Lamentations “as huge as the sea is your (this world’s) affliction; who can possibly cure you (our civilisation)”? We are also given the answer in the same reading: “Cry aloud to the Lord … let your tears flow day and night, … pour your heart out like water before the Lord”. Then we will discover that Jesus will cure all our ills, even if it is in ways we didn’t expect or even understand.
