Yes means yes

We take an oath if we are called to witness in a court of law “I swear by Almighty God …”. Jesus tells us people should be able to trust our word, our ‘yes’ or ‘no’, without the need to swear. Does this indicate that some are not always trustworthy or truthful in what they say? I pray today that my word can always be trusted, in every circumstance and every situation.
