Winning back their hearts

Elijah, the prophet, obeyed what he heard God instruct him to do. Against all odds, he had continued to proclaim the Law of the God of Abraham, till he was the only prophet left who had not become a follower of Baal. What resulted was a mighty sign of God’s power “so that this people may know that … you are winning back their hearts”. We also want to win people’s hearts to God. The way to do it is not to think up what we believe will be a dramatic event or demonstration, but, like Elijah, to do “all things at your command”.
