Knowing our desires
Jesus offers an extraordinary promise to his disciples: “Anything you ask for from the Father he will grant in my name”. It can seem almost too good to be true – at least in human terms. But if we take it seriously, then the question arises: What shall I ask for?” And that is a real challenge to discern because it takes us into the realm of our desires. At my deepest level, what do I to ask God for at this point in my life?
