Keeping the right profile
It isn’t easy to be a true disciple. If we truly aim to live by the values of Jesus then we will stand out in society and risk many things. We may not necessarily be “hated”, but we may well find ourselves ignored, ridiculed, dismissed as irrelevant or even considered dangerous. The temptation can be to tone down the expression of our beliefs, to keep a low profile in order not to stand out in any way. Each day we need to make a choice: do we want to live by the standards of Jesus or by the standards of society?
