Sunday 10 May

Fifth Sunday of Easter
Acts 6:1-7; Psalm 33; 1 Peter 2:4-9; John 14:1-12
No easy answers
Thomas and Philip both appear to put their foot in it with their questions - and Jesus doesn’t let them off lightly with his responses. But it’s hard not to feel more than a slight degree of sympathy for them both – because we don’t have easy answers to their questions either. And that, of course, is the point: Jesus doesn’t give them – or us – a neat little manual to get through life. They have to work at their faith – and so do we. What we do know is that if we keep focused on him, we will find the way and we will see the Father.
