Anzac Day

A wise person can discern what he or she has received. We don’t want to fall into the illusion that we are self-made or that we owe nothing to anyone. Much of what we have, we owe to others, and today we pause and express our appreciation and gratitude. We pray for the fallen in battle and all the victims of war. We pray, too, that the seeds of war and conflict – hatred, prejudice, pride, envy and greed – may be purified from our own hearts. We pray that we may be instruments of peace.
