Friday 24 April
Acts 5:34-42; Psalm 27; John 6:1-15
There’s a small boy here
This account of the multiplication of the loaves and fishes can provoke much speculation as to what was happening and why. Such speculation is good. God often lets our creative imagination be a door for his grace and light. There is the nearness of Passover; the testing of Philip; the sharing what was there; the abundance of what Jesus provided. Then there is the small boy who let the Lord take all he had and transform it into something beyond his wildest dreams. Sometimes I wish I was like the small boy.
