Assumptions and conclusions

When we lose touch with God, we become lost and afraid. Our minds cannot recognise people as they really are because the person doesn’t fit our expectations of them. Jesus could not be the Christ because the people knew who he was and where he came from; when the real Christ appeared, no one would know where he came from. Today’s psalm invites us to become aware that our God is very near – especially when we are struggling with life. Let us remember to stay close to God who is always very near in our difficult times. Lord, hear our voices and be with us in our distress.
