Jeremiah 8:18-20; Psalm 31; Matthew 20:7-28

Might is not right

Jeremiah’s message was too hard a pill to swallow, so his detractors concocted a plan to silence him. However, Jeremiah’s saving grace was his absolute trust in God. Even Jesus’ disciples were challenged when the mother of the two Zebedee sons asked for a favour for her boys. ‘Can you drink the cup that I am going to drink?’ The way of Jesus is not for the faint-hearted. However, when we know our place in the scheme of things, we can also count on the steadfast love of God to sustain us. I trust in you, Lord. My life is in your hands.
