Going the extra mile

If we save our kindness only for people we like and get on with, then we are falling short of God’s command to love. We are called to go the extra mile and treat with love and respect people who rub us up the wrong way and treat us in ways we do not deserve. When we love with this kind of love, our reward is great, for we become people of God. In loving one another, may we become a people, O God, who worship you in spirit and truth.
