Pay attention

Sometimes the message is before our eyes and we do not see it, and, like the people in Jesus’ day we ask for a sign for what we cannot see. Lent is a time for us to reflect and look more deeply into our lives. What do we need to wake up to? What signs are already before us? For what do we need to repent and change our ways. Family violence and global warming are two signs before our eyes right here in Aotearoa. A humbled and contrite heart, O God, you will not spurn.
