Our home!

This is the Day we celebrate the land of Aotearoa New Zealand. Most Catholics will not be present to join in the beautiful prayer that opens the Waitangi Day Mass, so here it is. Pray it today, and on other days, with thanksgiving and hope in your heart:

Ever-living God from whom all sovereignty comes, in the unfolding of time you led the Māori people, and many other peoples, to find their home in Aotearoa. As we strive to fulfil the destiny of our lives, heal the wounds of the past, draw together in true justice and love all who call this land their own. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
