Touch!

This gospel passage is sometimes known as ‘the sandwich’. Jairus seeks Jesus’ help for his “desperately sick” little daughter, but the journey to save her is interrupted by the woman who is cured by simply touching the clothes of Jesus. This ‘in-between’ episode is a wonderful example of the power of faith to encourage and enliven. So many were pushing against Jesus that day as he walked along, but he knew the significance of that one touch. It carried the strength of faith, reaching out with humble hope, and could not be ignored.
