Protection!

King David, troubled by his own failings, accepts the curse of a person we might call deranged as a just warning from God. Today’s psalm response, Lord, rise up and save me, is typical of David’s prayer. God is seen as a shield to protect and uphold the weak and defenceless. Those who call on God’s mercy need have no fear.

Prayer: Loving God, rise up and save me. Be a shield against all that would harm me, especially the temptations to turn from you, to doubt your love or your mercy.
