2 Samuel 12:1-7, 10-17; Psalm 51:12-17; Mark 4:35-41

Stillness!

Be still and know that I am God – words from a contemporary hymn that echo from today’s gospel. Jesus calms the sea and the wind with the command, “Quiet now! Be still!” Those who witnessed this were “filled with awe” and wondered, “Who can this be?” It is hard to pause, let alone stop, in our frenetic and overloaded lives, yet there is a well of stillness within each of us. It is easily tapped. Just think of it as God waiting in silence for you to begin the conversation.
