Local pride

Home towns are usually proud of a local son or daughter who does well. The people of Nazareth have heard of the reputation of Jesus and are eager to listen to him and see for themselves. For his part, Jesus is returning to his home synagogue “with the power of the Spirit in him”. His message is about God’s plan, and the good news, and freedom from oppression and having right relationships – a message we also hear in John’s letter. Give thanks to God for some individual or group who is a blessing in your home area.
