Courage!

Semisi Maya, a Fijian who suffered from Hansen’s disease (leprosy), earned money and fame from his talent in paintings. He used colours that reflected his feelings at the time. In our community we have one of his paintings in black and white of the disciples in their boat being tossed by wind and waves and Jesus walking on the rough water. As we know, Jesus gets in the boat and the situation totally changes. When I am in a black mood or afraid, can I hear Jesus telling me: Courage! It is I! Do not be afraid.
