No fanfare

The most significant announcement in human history: the Word is God. He made all things. The Word becomes flesh in the womb of Mary. No rush of wind, no earthquake, no thunder and lightning. Well, sure, an angel appearing is a bit of a giveaway. God usually acts without fanfare. God’s presence is a gentle whisper – easily missed. Mary was attentive; she heard the angel. Are you attentive to God’s gentle whispers?
