The one who asks always receives

The parable of the friend knocking on the door at midnight to ask his friend for bread contrasts the miserly response of the sleepy friend: “Do not bother me”, with the generous response of Jesus: ”Ask and it will be given to you … the one who knocks will always have the door opened to him”. As parents give their children good gifts – never stones, scorpions or snakes – “how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him”.

Ask Jesus for your needs, and especially for the Holy Spirit.
