The amazing love of God

Today we hear the whole of Chapter 15 of Luke’s gospel. Perhaps these three parables are the clearest statement Jesus made about the nature of God: the incredible, tender, patient, merciful Father who became visible in Jesus – Emmanuel, God with us. May we hold in our hearts, and mirror in our lives this love which the Father of Jesus has for all. May we be channels of this love to all just as Jesus was. May we know in our own hearts that since we are all lost sheep and prodigal sons and daughters we too are unconditionally loved and forgiven. We only have to turn to God and he will come running to meet us! The only thing that can come between him and us is our own refusal to admit that we are sinners!
