Where I am, my servant will be there too

Are we servant disciples? St Paul makes it clear that giving is a matter of freedom, and we are not to give grudgingly. He assures the Corinthians that God never forgets our efforts. Jesus calls disciples to give generously in loving service just as he did. His words, “wherever I am, my servant will be there too”, echo a challenge for us. Are our parishes centres of hospitality,

serving the poor, the homeless, the untouchables, the lonely, isolated or spiritually poor in our area? Do we reach out, or expect them to come to us? How generously am I serving?
