What it means to be free

When Christ freed us, he meant us to remain free, so says Paul in his letter to the Galatians. It is a freedom from slavery to the law and a freedom from sin. It is a freedom to love and serve God, to love our neighbour and love our selves. It is freedom, not licence. Licence is wanton. Freedom involves responsibility for the consequences of the choices we make. Jesus invites us to enjoy the freedom of the sons and daughters of God.
