The invitation

In Lucan society banquet invitations were reciprocated amongst classes and familiar groups.

For Luke these ties were tenuous and superficial and when really put to the test, seen wanting.

Luke finds an authentic response to the Kingdom of God from those least expected; the poorest of a society.

May we never be too wrapped up in our lives to ignore God’s invitation to the banquet prepared for us.
