Who do you say I am?

Human beings are complex. We are all the sum total of our genetic structures, our life experiences, personalities, the parenting we received, our cultural and religious backgrounds. Each of us is a blend of dark and light, sin and grace, humanity and divinity, sickness and health. We are also ever-growing and changing – hopefully anyway! Today’s gospel presents Peter confidently responding to Jesus’ question and being given a leadership role. Of course a little while later Peter messes up badly. Today with confidence list your regrets and mess-ups, accepting them as manure for growth.
