The greatest

We all like to think that our efforts have been noticed and will be acknowledged or rewarded, especially if it was done for someone we admire and respect. Jesus says that true greatness is in serving others. A Marist priest teacher once told me that they and their work in schools were to be like the manure that goes around the base of a tree, enabling it to flourish. That has given me food for thought on many occasions.
