ASH WEDNESDAY

Now is the time

Now! Now is the time to turn back to God who is tender-hearted and full of compassion. Now is the favourable time to be reconciled to God.

But how shall we turn back to God?

Unlike the hypocrites, let our almsgiving be in secret, let us go to our private rooms to pray and let’s not be gloomy when we fast, so the Lord alone knows we mean to return to him with all our hearts. And let the ashes we have received be a real sign of our determination to do this as we begin our Lenten season.
