A prophet is only despised in his own country
Jesus arrived home at Nazareth and taught in the synagogue on the Sabbath. Goodness gracious! came the cry, this man is good! But is he trying to be smart? He should know his place. Anyway, what he says is nonsense. I’m not negative like that, I say. But I am a bit like those people, because I’ve heard the Gospels so many times before. I let their genius slip by. Does my lethargy disempower Jesus? Perhaps I could spend more time with the word of God praying for light and wisdom. Lord Jesus, speak to me and help me listen.
