The Conversion of St Paul, Apostle
Acts 22:3-16; Psalm 117; Mark 16:15-18
I am Jesus and you are persecuting me
After receiving a surprise we might say, “You could have bowled me over with a feather!” Well, Paul was knocked to the ground and a voice called, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?” Previously Paul had been blinded by misguided zeal, yet when his sight returned he saw Jesus with the eyes of faith. He grew to know Jesus and enthusiastically preached him for the rest of his life. Conversion came quickly for Paul, but maybe slowly for us. We pray with Paul who was consumed with love for Christ, that we too might “know the love of Christ.”
