Reflection

One of the characteristics of our spiritual lives is our capacity to digest. To digest the scriptural text and, by this, allow the word of God to become more part of us. This takes time, but it changes the scripture from being about mere knowledge and makes way for this passage of scripture to transform us and bring us closer to God. To ruminate and to go over and over again a gospel passage helps us to enter in. Jesus scolds those who had the knowledge but didn’t enter in and thereby prevented others from doing the same.
