Inner self

The way we live our everydayness proclaims who we believe in. Often, our culture defines us as human consumers. This definition means that we must get, or we should have, and I haven’t time to dream, reflect or pray. All of these assumptions serve to prevent the transformative contact with God. Our God refreshes us and renews our sense of becoming human. So it is our inner being that really matters, and not what we can readily get, have and so consume. Jesus calls and sends without purse, sandals or haversack. Each day we are called into this union. What can we let go of today?
