the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Micah 5:1-4, Psalm 13, Matthew 1:1-16,18-23,

Feminine love

Mary’s nativity seems to be overshadowed in the readings. In celebrating her birthday Mary would want us to focus on her Son. Who or what is Mary to me? Am I able to be part of the background fabric of Christian life in which the living God is faithfully loved, nurtured and passed on through my life to others? Am I prepared to be part of God’s plan for the world or do I want to make my own plans for my Christian life in which I want to be a cut above the rest?
