In praise of generosity

Today, my mother would have celebrated her 107th birthday. She died aged 89, and had been my mother for 58 years. Mothers make many sacrifices for their children. Hours and cost are not part of their reckoning. Families are the Lord’s favourite vineyards, with a special love for those who do the parenting. A good harvest depends on generosity and most parents have an abundant supply. Pray today for your parents, alive or deceased. Thank God for their work in the vineyard over years, many or few, working faithfully and generously towards a rich harvest.
