After the Magi had left, the angel appeared to Joseph in a dream, and said, ‘Get up and take the child and his mother with you into Egypt.’ Pope Francis has a great love for St Joseph because Joseph is a man of silence and strength. On his table, Pope Francis has an image of St Joseph sleeping. At night, he leaves a note under the image of the Saint with anything that is troubling him. When Pope Francis gets up in the morning, he takes whatever action is needed. This is not a passive prayer. Rather, having let go of the concern and after a good sleep, the way forward becomes clear. May we too entrust our worries into God’s hands, through the intercession of St Joseph.
