Twenty-second Sunday in Ordinary Time

The Lord’s Day

Each Sunday of the year is a little Easter – Jesus is risen indeed – a time for the whole Church and every citizen of heaven to rejoice. Hearing the Gospel of this Sunday we appreciate the guidance from the first reading – “the greater you are, the more you should behave humbly, and then you will find favour with the Lord.” It is pride that comes before the fall. So act, speak and think for the Inviter to say: “My friend, move up higher.” And care for the needy who cannot pay you back.
