St John Baptist de la Salle

Acts 5:27-33; Ps 34; John 3:31-36

Courage to witness

Today’s saint, John Baptist de la Salle, is a French priest born in the 17th century. He is the patron saint of all who work in the field of Christian education. The importance of this work is highlighted in today’s first reading where Peter and the apostles are under great stress because of the opposition to their teaching. Let us pray today for all those working in Catholic schools that they will be given the gifts of courage and wisdom so that they will be faithful to the teachings of Christ.
