God of abundance

The miracle of the feeding of the crowd begins with a young boy’s willingness to surrender his lunch of five barley loaves and two fishes. We remember that when God calls us to do something that involves some personal sacrifice. We may argue that what we’re asked to give is small and can’t possibly make a difference. Then we realise that God has a way of multiplying “small” into plenty, with lots left over.
