The parting of the Red Sea

We’ve all read commentaries explaining how these waters separated - exceptional low tide, tsunami, etc. That’s interesting, but superficial. When we read the story as parable, we understand how God’s call works in our lives. The call is an idea that will persist until we stop answering, “No.” Then we usually substitute, “I can’t,” because we see a barrier that prevents us from putting the call into action. This is the moment, when God parts the “Red Sea” for us.
