The responsibility of gift

Poor Esau! His brother Jacob cheated him, and he was furious. It seemed so unfair! Yet we see that Jacob didn’t get this blessing on a plate. He had to go into exile to escape Esau’s anger, and then needed to work hard for everything that came to him. Esau, on the other hand, seemed to quietly prosper, and when Jacob eventually returned, he graciously forgave him. This tells me two things: that God’s call is not always to those who are righteous by our standards, and when God bestows a gift on us, it usually means we are called to use it for others..
