Joy

The reading from the Song of Songs is some of the most beautiful poetry in the bible. It touches our hearts. Hope, joy and a promise of what is to come. Luke records that when Mary heard Elizabeth was pregnant she went quickly to Ain Karim to help her elderly cousin to cope. Mary was carrying the Son of God. A stupendous concept. Yet her concern was for someone else. A journey of about 110-120 km, on foot. At her arrival, Elizabeth and her unborn child both recognised Mary and the Child she carried and praised God.
