Be prepared

Using the foolish maidens who failed to prepare themselves for the wedding feast as an example, Jesus explains that we must be ready at all times to meet God face to face. Oddly, although even a child can see how the foolish maidens could have avoided their situation, the need to prepare to meet God is less well accepted by many.

Holy Spirit, companion and friend, guide me today to hear God’s voice and act according to his will. May I always be ready to greet him regardless of how unexpectedly he may call.
