God’s patience

The parable of the fig tree can be taken as a call to repentance. God waits patiently, and waits again, for us to turn away from sin; and it’s clear that the call to repent is to be taken seriously. An effect of repenting is that ‘we live by the truth in love’ … and ‘grow in all ways into Christ’.
