Feed the hungry

The Pharisees accused the disciples of harvesting on the Sabbath. Jesus defended them by quoting from an incident recorded in the First Book of Samuel. If David was not guilty of profaning the sacred nor were the disciples. Implicit in our Gospel Reading is the truth that some laws are more important than others. To feed the hungry takes priority over man made interpretations of how to observe a holy day. Time for an examination of conscience: how do I score when it comes to doing the corporal works of mercy?
