Called to account

God’s displeasure with the leaders of Israel might equally apply to leaders of many countries today. He accuses the shepherds of looking after themselves while neglecting their flocks, failing to care for the sick and wounded and the most compelling of all, allowing the flocks to stray far and wide while not even bothering to look for them. Sound familiar? Suffice to say, he also says that the shepherds will be called to account. Lord, we pray for our leaders, that they will hear your voice and be guided by you, our true shepherd.
