Personal responsibility

God was putting the people of Israel straight. Stop blaming your ancestors for your sins – only children who followed their fathers into sin would be punished. In other words, take responsibility for your own actions. We live in a society where we’re not encouraged to do this, it’s often easier to blame someone or something else when things go wrong. One day we’ll be held personally accountable for all we do, so we need to ask ourselves, am I ready? Lord, help us to admit when we’re wrong and to teach our children to do the same.
