Eleventh Week Ordinary Time

1 Kings 21: 1-16, Ps. 5, Matthew 5: 38-42

Divine movement

Going the extra mile, turning the other cheek are not actions which come easily to human beings. We need to find a super human strength, something divine to help us act like this. That ‘finding’ is an action, as much a deed as a good work. Part of this ‘finding’ is seeing where the extra mile needs to be travelled. So often that mile is a small movement of my soul towards love. When all I want to do is judge or get even with another, can I make that small movement?
