James 4:1-10; Ps 55; Mark 9:30-37

Getting what we want

James points out that we don’t have what we want because we haven’t prayed for it, or haven’t prayed for it properly and selflessly. He ends by saying “humble yourselves before the Lord and he will lift you up”. The response to the psalm urges us to entrust our cares to the Lord and he will support us. Jesus urges us to come to him like little children. Put it all together, and you will know how to ask – prayerfully, humbly, simply, faithfully, selflessly. Can you do it?
