Ecclesiasticus 47:2-11; Ps 18; Mark 6:14-29

Who would be a King?

Today’s readings are about two very different kings of Israel. The first reading praises David, the second tells of Herod who had John the Baptist beheaded. But recall the sins David committed, so were the two kings as different as all that?

The important thing was that the Lord took away David’s sins because David repented. And so will our sins be taken away when we repent.
