Practical experience

In the gospel, the apostles were sent out with nothing except the Lord’s blessing to put their training into practice. Just as trainee teachers, tradespeople, seminarians, etc are today. But modern-day trainees have mentors with them – the apostles did not.

Put yourself in their sandals. How would you feel, being thrown in the deep end? But the Lord was with them; they preached and worked miracles. How much better could we do, with the Holy Spirit to guide us?
