St Josaphat

Wisdom 2:23-3:9, Ps 34, Luke 17:7-10

Josaphat was a servant of the Lord who dedicated his life to healing the split between the Orthodox and Catholic Church. In his life as a bishop and martyr he found himself put to the test: yet he was faithful in his mission as a preacher, as an ascetic, and a unifier of God’s People. The fruits of his labours are being realized in our time: where the “two lungs of the Church” [JPII] are now more trusting of each other to breathe in the One Body of Christ. May each of us be committed to be an instrument of unity in building up the Body of Christ according to the graces we’ve been given, and our field of influence.
